This comparative dataset provides a balanced representation of paintings by artists of different genders, compiled from Wikidata with full attribution metadata from Wikimedia Commons.

Collection Parameters

  • · Data Source: Wikidata structured data for paintings with gender-identified artists
  • · Target Size: 400 paintings per gender category
  • · Diversity Constraint: Maximum 10 paintings per female artist, 6 per male artist
  • · Attribution: Complete TASL (Title, Author, Source, License) metadata

File Organization

Images are organized with systematic naming: GENDER_number_artist_title_year.extension
This facilitates programmatic analysis while maintaining human readability.
